Blood Pressure
« on: May 05, 2008, 03:27:40 PM »
Because I was diagnosed with PCOS my doctor did an early glucose test, and fortunately the results came back normal. However, now my blood pressure was a very high-normal, so my doctor is concerned and wants me to start taking medicine. She is a certified high-risk doctor, so I feel she knows what she is doing. Did anyone else have blood pressure issues during pregnancy? My pressure was normal before pregnancy, and I am 15 weeks.

Blood Pressure

Hi,

I developed high blood pressure at about 30 weeks or so. It fluctuated a lot but they really started watching it at about 34 weeks when it spiked really high. I had all the bloodwork done for preeclampsia but it was all negative. At 36 weeks it was spiking again and they put me on medication for it. I was on Labatelol (sp??).
I had no problems though it still went up occasionally. As soon as I delivered Jenna it came down.

It can be really scary and causes a lot of worry. The doctors will watch you closely but I am sure you will be fine. They err on the side of caution but generally I think they know what they are doing.

Take Care
Teresa
